Create a draft client invoice

1 min read · Captura guides

An invoice records services, quantities, prices, tax and an amount owed. Studio owners can use the invoice workspace; Free includes invoices. A client record is required. An optional event must belong to that client.

  1. Open Invoices from the studio navigation, then choose New Invoice.
  2. Choose Client and, if relevant, Event (optional).
  3. Enter Due Date, review Tax Rate (%), and add the line items with their descriptions, quantities and prices.
  4. Review the total and choose Create Invoice. In Guided Setup, the control is Save draft Invoice.

What happens next

a draft invoice. Saving the draft does not send it or collect payment. Tax is calculated from the line-item subtotal and the entered percentage; check the rate with your own tax adviser. Do not assume a Captura subscription coupon discounts a client invoice. No separate invoice-discount or currency-change control is documented here.

If creation fails, check the selected client, associated event and required fields before retrying. Check the invoice list first to avoid an accidental duplicate. Contact support if a saved invoice has missing or incorrect amounts; provide the invoice reference, time and a redacted screenshot, not private portal links.
